TLC Training

On February 4, 2017, Troop 26 held its annual TLC leadership training. It was led by Scoutmaster Brown and Assistant Scoutmaster Soga. A new change that was made this year with the structure of the TLC was that the Senior Patrol Leader, Cooper Bohley, helped lead parts of the meeting. The SPL leading the meeting shows that Troops 26 is a resourceful and extremely well run troop. This also shows that the scouts receive a lot of responsibility from the Scoutmasters.

After the Pledge of Allegiance and reciting of the Scout Law, we discussed what leadership means, what a scout-led troop means and how to maintain a scout-led troop. Then, Mr. Soga talked about the National Honor Patrol and how to plan a meeting. After this, SPL Bohley told us about the many different leadership roles and what each one did. After this, we took a break and participated in two teamwork activities. In the first we were asked to set up a tent blindfolded. In the second, we had to pick up a can with only ropes and a bungee cord. We closed the meeting with suggestions about making our troop better. This meeting was exciting and very interesting.
