19 Oaks

Written by Sam S., Life Scout

The 19 Oaks trip was a fun overnight that was also the troop’s first hike post-Covid. The hike to the campsite on the first day was beautiful, and we made good time. When we got there, Thomas and I helped the younger scouts set up their gear and tents. After that, the scouts went on a cool hike up towards Alexander Saddle, and when scouts came back, I helped the younger scouts with sign-offs and rank progression. That night we played mafia around the campfire, and in the morning ran into Mr. Beckstrand, who was doing trail maintenance, while hiking back. This hike was special because it was just two older scouts (Thomas and I) and we were able to help the scouts experience a fun backpacking trip.
