SUMMARY:Goleta Bike Ride (Weakliem & Scholl)
DESCRIPTION:We have an overnight bike camping trip scheduled for September 13-14. Unfortunately we are not able to get camping reservations at any campground in the area. Therefore we have rescheduled this for an 8 mile bike ride to qualify for a Cycling merit badge requirement on September 13 at the Ellwood Mesa Open Space. We will meet at 9:00 AM at the parking area across from Ellwood School and finish about 3:00 PM. Besides the ride we will work as much as possible on Cycling merit badge requirements 1\,2\,3\,4\,5. You can find information on these at Mr. Scholl’s campsite. You will need to bring 2 liters of water\, lunch\, sunscreen\, a properly fitted bike helmet\, and your bike in good condition. Use the Bicycle Safety Checklist and cheek things off (bring the sheet with you) and you will already have done part of requirement 4. Study the California law sheet-you should know the important safety related items. Parents and ASM’s are welcome to help get the maximum signoffs!\nReminder –  Email Mr. Scholl and Mr. Hey if you want to sign up to do the cycling merit badge.
