They have asked now if we could help with some other tasks around the Church\, to address flooding problems\, and the time to do it would be this Saturday afternoon\, from 1:30 – sunset. Our tasks:\n1) Clean the gutters around the sanctuary. DESCRIPTION:Leader: Mr. Perez  surferbob47@gmail.com 805-284-3985\nMeet at Big 5 at 8:00 am. Returning to St. Mark Church around 12pm.  Bring 10 essentials and snacks.\nOn Sat. December 17\, we are doing a classic hike (of sorts) in the nearby front country of Los Padres National Forest – the rock maze known as The Playground.  The rock formations here are a popular destination for Santa Barbara adventurers who like to amble among the numerous rocky corridors to be found here.  The trailhead is found off of West Camino Cielo.\nThe hike consists of a 20-30 minute walk down a brush corridor of a path until you reach a rock formation known as The Guardian.  Once you get to the other side of it\, a beautiful vista of Santa Barbara\, the Pacific\, and the Channel Islands comes into view.  From there\, scouts wander and explore the rocks in the general vicinity of The Guardian for a while.  If you have a friend who wants to see what scouting is about\, this is a good trip to bring them on.
