This September 15 Scouts participated in the Citizenship In The Nation Merit Bade class with Mr. Williams. Over six meetings the scouts learned all about what it means to be a Citizen of this beautiful Nation, learning all about the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the functions of government. We had conversations about famous speeches, wrote letters to our representatives about topics that concern or interest us and we reported on a national monument. We had an interesting tour of the Santa Barbara Courthouse which is on the National Register of Historic Places. This was Mr. Williams’ first opportunity to teach a merit badge class and we look forward to welcoming him back for more next year including Personal Management and Law.
