Baron Ranch Hike!

Hi Scouts,Great chance to do a trail most of you will not have done before. Baron Ranch trailhead is just past Refugio when you head out of Goleta on the 101 North. That mean its only a 20min drive away, not as far as the Gaviota Windcaves which you may all have done before.There are two trails here: one “Arroyo Quemado Trail” goes all the way to West Camino Cielo – top of the Santa Ynez Range here. The other trail follows the first for 3 miles then does a lollipop and takes you back the way you came.I suggest we stay on the main trail and aim for 5-6mile round trip. The turnaround point should give us some great sea views as we have a snack before heading back to the trailhead.Recommend hiking shoes/trail runners, pants with zip off lower half (so you have pant or short option). Your Class B t-shirts or sun hoodies, shades/ hat and a bag with 10 essentials – (fluids, sunscreen and snacks being at the top of that list)Better if we meet early, get started on time and beat the heat. We can get our exercise/ fresh air and hiking miles in and still be back for 1pm and have your afternoon and evening free!
