Car camping during one of the best weather months at Big Sur. We will drive up on Friday, stopping to view the Elephant seals then make camp at Plaskett Creek and possibly walk down to Sand Dollar Beach. On Saturday we will visit Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, historic Partington Cove anchorage and hike to the abandoned tin house high above the highway. On Sunday we may hike among the redwoods on the Mansfield Ravine Trail. This will be a good time for scouts to work on cooking requirements for second and first class ranks and cooking merit badge.
