Memorial Day is a special opportunity to remember and honor those who have given their lives to maintain our freedoms.
If you have no other plans, I encourage you to arrive, in uniform, to help out at this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony. You can help set up chairs, pass out brochures, and take chairs down after. I am not sure that I will be able to attend, and there is no other ASM assigned, so . It will be an excellent ceremony. No RSVP required, just come if you wish.
The Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation will again sponsor this special ceremony. Retired Air Force Colonel Philip J. Conran will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the event which will include speakers from different military branches. The ceremony includes bagpipes and the Santa Barbara Choral Society. Closing the program will be a flyover of vintage war ‘birds’.
