What: Radio Merit Badge with MBC Neil Beard
When: September 28th from 7:30 AM to 6:00PM (Class from 9:00 – 5:00). Leaving from Big 5 parking lot and returning at St. Marks Church
Where: Near Vandenburg AFB. We will need volunteers to drive to and from the event.
Calling all Scouts for the Radio Merit Badge!
This event will be for the Scouts to complete their Radio Merit Badge. This event will be held at a facility near Vandenburg AFB, so we will need to coordinate transportation to and from the event. Both the youth and adults are welcome to participate. Additionally, there is an opportunity to get your ham radio license from the FCC by taking a test. The test will be administered during the lunch hour and has a cost of $35. Please bring cash or check. Also, depending on the size of the group, we will either ask for a sack lunch to be brought, or get something catered. We will decide depending on the number of RSVP’s.
Finally, this is a fairly technical course, so I will be adding a preparation class a few weeks before to go over some of the basics, please attend the preparation session, or plan on reading the merit badge book beforehand. Also please print the worksheet at the link below and bring it to the class.
