Scouts and adults! The Santa Barbara Model A Ford Club is having a Gymkhana Event on August 24th 10am to 12pm and needs some volunteer helpers. The event will take place at South Coast Church parking lot 5814 Cathedral Oaks Rd, Goleta, CA 93117.
It is a chance to get up close and see some very cool historic cars! – the Model A Ford was first produced almost 100 years ago from 1927 to 1931 and around 5 million were produced in total. This is a great chance to learn a lot about this American made classic from the owners and enthusiasts.
The Gymkhana event is going to comprise a set of fun games for the drivers such as tossing bean bags at targets as they parade around at slow speeds… seeing how little water the drivers can spill based on how good the cars suspension is and more. The duties for the scouts will mainly revolve around this aspect: helping set up the games, keeping score, handing bean bags to the drivers, measuring out water into cups, handing out trophies at the end, and some help with packdown etc… will need at least 5 scouts from 9am to 1pm to help set up and clean up. Class A attire (full uniform).
