This year, in honor of our veterans, we are doing a flag ceremony at Valle Verde before their dinner service on Thursday Nov 9’th. While it’s on a Thursday afternoon, there’s no school on Friday, so come out and do this short (1hr) service that means so much to the residents, many of whom are veterans. In the past we’ve met veterans from many era, including Vietnam, Korea, WW2, as well as the times in between. Only about 1% of those who served in WW2 are still with us, so it’s a chance to meet with some of them while we still can. Scouts who have done these services in the past remember the residents and the smiles on their faces.
