This year, our Annual Troop 26 Family Picnic was held at Tucker Grove Park in Goleta. We had a good turnout of scouts, parents, siblings, and scout leadership, with an especially good showing of the younger scouts. The cloud cover gave us a cooler event than in prior years, which was nice. The potluck food provided by the families was various, but Jonathan’s favorite was the chicken and rice dish and the butterscotch brownies. Other choices included mac & cheese, pizza, chips and salsa, and various cookies for dessert. Though there were no competitions, the favorite activities were horseshoes and ultimate frisbee. Some of the scouts are hoping that at the event next year, the favorite spikeball will be added to the activities. The scouts enjoyed hanging out with friends and having informal time to reminisce about the events they shared and other interests they had in common. Thank you all on the planning team for a successful event.
