In July, five T26 Scouts, plus Mr. Schley SM and Mrs. Schley ASM, went with the Los Padres Council contingent to the National Jamboree. They were among 35 Scouts and adults representing the Council. Sam Schley, T26 Eagle Scout, was the elected SPL for the contingent. Mr. Schley was the scoutmaster for the troop of 31 male participants, and Mrs. Schley was the health officer for the contingent.
As in past years, the trip included a history tour, by bus, of Philadelphia, DC, and parts of Virginia, followed by 10 days of Jamboree with about 17,000 scouts. Our Scouts made new friends, earned merit badges, went whitewater rafting, and enjoyed excellent speakers and music. And traded lots of patches!
