Troop Court of Honor 04/22/2025

Our evening started with a nice variety of casseroles, spaghetti, rice, couscous and other dishes for our potluck dinner. To complete the meal, families brought desserts such as fudge, pies, chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, oranges and avocados for the dessert auction. Reeves S. our SPL did a great job as our Master of Ceremonies and kept the program rolling forward. Following the presentation of colors, Mr. Hey was sworn in as our new Scoutmaster. By far, the highlight of the evening was the recognition of Mr. Schley, the outgoing Scoutmaster, for his dedication and commitment to Troop 26 for three and a half years of service. Mr. Pereira reminded us of the countless hours dedicated to troop meetings, outings, organization and how he led the scouts “from the heart.” Thank you, Mr. Schley. He was awarded a plaque, a framed American Flag the scouts folded and a BSA flag that all the scouts signed.

There were numerous rank advancements including five scouts achieving the Life rank and many merit badges awarded. The new scouts to our troop were recognized. The evening ended up with Mr. Pinner awarding the Donna and Sam Soga service awards, one to Mr. Kamlet for his service in the scout community and the other to Mr. Schley. They both received plaques and special patches with both American and Japanese Flags.
