Scoutmaster-5-minute (Dec 2022)

Scoutmaster 5 minute

Hello friends of Troop 26,

I am pleased to report that Troop 26 has had a year full of great outdoor adventures, as you will read in this newsletter.

Our Scouts plan the event calendar 12-18 months in advance. With the help of a dozen uniformed Scoutmasters and the support of the parent committee, the Scouts climbed Mount Baldy, the Tooth of Time, and Kaiser Wilderness this summer and are planning Mts. Whitney and Langley, National Jamboree, and Northern Tier in the next 18 months. Every month there are hikes, overnights, biking, canoeing and/or service projects. Our Scouts continue to advance through ranks (most to eagle), learn leadership skills, and put the Scout values into practice.

Please help us continue the great traditions of Troop 26:

  • Give to our charity, Friends of Troop 26, which funds equipment purchases and aid for more expensive trips.
  • Spread the word about Troop 26, as this is a great source of recruits.
  • Volunteer to help through the Parent Committee, as an ASM, or in other ways.

Thank you for helping our Scouts. Onward and upward!

Yours in Scouting ⚜

Mike Schley SM
