Night Hike to Inspiration point: April 14, 2023

Troop 26 had an amazing night hike to Inspiration Point in Santa Barbara. 11 scouts and 3 visitors joined for the hike as well as 5 adults. Scouts got to enjoy a 7-mile round-trip hike as well as a beautiful sunset at the top. The Jesusita train is a mildly difficult trail with around 1200 feet of elevation. Because of the recent rains, there was a lot of water in the creeks which we got to see along the trail. There were a few areas where the trail wasn’t well kept because of the rain but overall it was a wonderful experience for all the scouts to participate in.

Before the hike, many scouts worked on practicing some surprises for Camporee. These projects were supposed to be a
part of our campsite and will hopefully draw many eyes. Everyone got some good practice and experience with their lashings. Our campsite gate worked out very well and looked amazing but unfortunately, we didn’t have time to assemble the second structure.
