Scoutmaster Minute – November 2013

This is the time of year when we all enjoy celebrating the holidays with our family and friends. It’s also a time to remember the spirit of giving and thankfulness.

In the spirit of scouts being helpful, courteous and kind, I’ve been especially heartened by the enthusiasm and participation in our troop meeting just before Thanksgiving when the scouts prepare and bake pies for donation to those less fortunate.

I’m sure those pies brought much joy to those receiving them. I look forward to another great meeting later this month. What a great tradition we’ve started within Troop 26.

I would like to encourage every scout and their families to seek out those who are unable to celebrate with family and make an effort to make the holiday, whatever holiday you celebrate, a real time of joy. Doing so, you will be living and sharing the “Scout Spirit” of the Season.

Happy Holidays…
