Canoeing on Lake Cachuma

Spring & Summer Canoeing on Lake Cachuma

Several opportunities opened up in the Spring and Summer 2024 to practice our canoeing skills on Lake Cachuma. Three of our troop leaders and five of the scouts took advantage of this time to hone in their paddling skills. Grant D stated “the highlight of the trip for me was our glide way far into the lake and the small little coves we explored. We learned different paddling skills and I passed o some of the requirement for the canoeing merit badge.” The scouts wore warm clothing and everything went great but Grant encouraged those in the future to be prepared with warm clothing for cold or clothing suitable for warm weather, it could have been hot. It was lots of fun and a great learning trip.
