MODEL A FORD GYMKHANA

AUGUST 24 – MODEL A FORD GYMKHANA

The Model A Ford Gymkhana event gave us an opportunity to put into practice our Scout Oath to help
other people at all times. And, it is always rewarding to have fun while helping others. We were on
hand with five scouts and four leaders dressed in our Class A uniform to assist the drivers with whatever
they needed from us including the setup up and take down.
There were all sorts of fun cars that showed up and some of which competed in the event and some
were just there for show but very interesting and cool to see. Some of the owners let us sit inside and
that was a fun experience. We even got to participate in the water event, serving water and trying not
to spill the cup out the window and the beanbag toss. The people were really nice and seemed very glad
to have us there. It was a fun event overall. Our efforts not only provided help where needed to make
the event successful but we had a great time participating in our community and meeting many new
faces, young, old and in between.
